The DJI Phantom platform is arguably the best drone platform on the market today. With that said, has the first TRUE DJI Phantom competition arrived? I don’t have my hands on a Yuneec Typhoon H drone at the time of posting this but I must confess, that the Typhoon H’s feature set on paper looks impressive! I like how it has 4K (how does the video quality/stability compare to DJI Phantom 3 Pro or DJI Phantom 4 though?) and even possesses the ability to possibly still fly, should a motor fail. Although it’s a hexacopter, the legs fold up for travel, making it capable of fitting inside of a backpack or small case. VERY COOL! The Yuneec Typhoon H features obstacle avoidance. Like the Inspire 1 that is TOO LARGE and TOO HEAVY in my opinion, the Yuneec Typhoon H sports retractable landing gear for 360-degree camera rotation! However, the travel size/weight of the Typhoon H is much more similar to DJI Phantom than Inspire! How will the Typhoon H perform? The Yuneec Typhoon H specs on paper have definitely sparked my curiosity! One point worth mentioning is that the range of the Yuneec Typhoon H 4K is DRASTICALLY LESS than the Phantom 3 or Phantom 4. With that said, this should be a non-issue, since the operator should fly line-of-sight to be safe anyway.
