A Sawyer water filtration system is the optimal way to filter water while backpacking. Simply collect water in the collapsible water bladder, screw on the filter and then squeeze out filtered water! You can also drink directly from the filter, instead of pouring into a pot or water bottle first. While in the backcountry, I do everything possible to minimize travel size and travel weight. The Sawyer water filter system is small and lightweight. Also, there are several water bottle brands like SmartWater that the Sawyer filter can screw directly on to, should you prefer to not use Sawyer collapsible water bladders. Even though I carry a small quantity of water into the backcountry with me for drinking, it’s great to have a somewhat unlimited supply of water where there are streams and/or springs. Not only does the Sawyer filter make most water safe to drink but it also removes some of the sediment and such that boiling water doesn’t remove. In addition to backcountry use, the Sawyer water filter would be excellent to use while traveling in third-world countries that typically have poor-quality drinking water. #Sawyer #WaterFilter #Backpacking
