What is the best drone for beginners? I’ve been flying drones since DJI Phantom 1 and the controls of drones since Phantom 1 through present have remained somewhat the same. For a beginner, I would recommend a less expensive drone that behaves the same from a controls perspective as the larger and more expensive drones. On today’s market, DJI Neo is my recommendation for beginners. DJI Neo is a smaller and less expensive drone that can be controlled using a smartphone only or a joystick. Since it behaves just like the larger and more expensive DJI drones, it makes the perfect drone for beginners because they can learn how to fly a drone first and then upgrade to a larger and more expensive drone if desired. With that said, DJI Neo may be more than enough drone for most people and the desire to upgrade in the future may never arise.
