The DJI Mavic Pro is the first small and foldable drone from DJI. Although I like the DJI Mavic Pro, there are definitely areas for improvement. It’s the first of its kind and has not been around for many years like the proven and thoroughly-tested DJI Phantom platform. My experience with the DJI Mavic Pro was enjoyable. The controller felt great but an integrated slide-down screen would have been better. The flight dynamics were just as good as the DJI Phantom. Video contained minor vibrations, unlike DJI Phantom video. The camera was also severely affected by lens flare. Battery life was impressive! The overall build quality of the DJI Mavic Pro was exceptional. The most impressive feature was the foldable and extremely small travel size and travel weight. I wish that the DJI Mavic Pro had a screw-off lens filter like the DJI Phantom though. Given the low ground clearance, I could see the camera and/or gimbal assembly becoming damaged over time, even with careful use. This signals where DJI is heading. I look forward to a foldable DJI Phantom 5 drone with a modular camera optional and telescoping landing gear.
