Choosing the best backpacking campsite doesn’t have to be difficult. I prefer a campsite next to a rock face with an overhang. This better protects from rain and falling tree branches, etc. Also, it lessens the amount of entry points into the campsite. A fire next to the rock face produces extra warmth and there is a natural wind block! #backpacking
