The Google Advanced Protection Program adds an additional layer of security for Google account. I wanted to harden the security for YouTube, G-Mail and other Google services that I use. When Google announced the Advanced Protection Program, utilizing a physical key to make my Google account more secure was a no-brainer. Please be aware that at the time of posting this certain applications may not be compatible with this program. For example, I cannot current use Mail or Safari on my Mac. I have to use Chrome instead. This is a small gripe but is worth mentioning. I found the initial setup and continued use of the program to be a straight-forward experience. Be sure to buy multiple security keys and store them in different and safe places. Physical keys will be required to log into your Google account after enrollment. These are the keys like I use:
