This is how to connect Apple CarPlay. I’m demonstrating using Apple CarPlay in a Volkswagen Passat. Be sure to use an original Apple USB cable for the iPhone. Although many third-party Apple iPhone cables work well to charge the iPhone, I have found that many of them do not work properly for Apple CarPlay. Keep in mind that a vehicle may have multiple USB ports but there is typically only one USB port for Apple CarPlay and it’s usually located below or adjacent to the vehicle’s touchscreen.
